Donations to the Hawai'i Fire Department

The Daniel R. Sayre Foundation has been providing the Hawai'i Fire Department and it's personnel essential equipment and training opportunities, and has helped save lives and protect property in our island community. The Sayre Foundation has streamlined the process of turning your donations into essential equipment that is life changing, both on the side of those being helped or those doing the helping. Enabling our first responders to do their job safer and better thru training and equipment is a passion and focus of the Sayre Foundation, and working to put your donation directly into that passion without wasting is a priority.  Below are just some of the donated apparatus and equipment that has been procured in the past.

In the wake of the recent devastation on Maui,
the Sayre Foundation is setting up a fund to help do similar work for our Fire ohana on Maui.

Donation update

Named "Ka 'Io" after the Hawaiian hawk, this AirBus H125 is equipped to respond to EMS calls across the island, as well as perform firefighting and rescue operations. Through the generous donations from a group of amazing donors, we were able to procure this helicopter for the Hawai'i Fire Department to replace the faithful but aging Chopper 2. This is one of the many amazing donations that we were able to provide to the first responders on the island of Hawai'i.

AirBus H145 Project

The expansion of the HFD Aviation program is continuing with the additional vision of providing interisland transfer capabilities. The AirBus H145 would allow the Island of Hawai'i to have another option for transferring critical patients to larger hospitals off island. While we have funded the purchase of a new H145 aircraft, we are still raising funds to build hanger facilities and crucial infrastructure for the HFD Aviation program.
